9 Hole Competition - 2nd June

A good turnout of players braved challenging conditions for 9 holes of evening golf. A winning score of 23 points by Lewis Hearn took the day (although, Mr.Handicap Secretary, this did include a nominated double points hole), but do watch this golfer he's being mentioned in dispatches a lot! Thanks to Peter Jones & Derrick Rowlett who braved tempestuous weather to man the BBQ and produce some excellent food, also to Brenda Softley who with a bit more experience will make an excellent waitress! All enjoyed the food & a well earned drink or two to finish the evening in convivial style. Next Friday Night Event 30th June, the more the merrier!

Brampton v MGC

On a lovely afternoon a full team travelled to Brampton, the course was in excellent condition and Brampton members were as always superb hosts. March lost 1.5/2.5. A special mention to Lewis Hearn who celebrated his birthday and a win on the same day! All enjoyed the sausage and mash over a pint to complete the afternoon.

Scratch Team 31st May March v Bourn

On a absolutely superb evening for golf on a well prepared course 3 pairs posted a win for Bourn 4/2. It should be mentioned that for several of the team had already played that day, so lots of golf that day. Many thanks to all who supported MGC in this fixture.

May Stableford

1st S.Canavan, B.Salih, G.Lockwood, N.Carley, 2nd M.Russell, S.Russell, B.Baxter, P. Wood, 3rd J.King, L.Hearn, D.Wisbey, A.Lilley

St Ives v MGC (Scratch)

A disappointing match for the Scratch team losing 6-0 away at St Ives. Away fixtures in the Scratch league are always tough, especially against those clubs that can call on a vast pool of members with low handicaps. Unfortunately we do not have the same resources to choose from as most of these clubs but the Scratch team has really done the club proud over the last 2-3 years and I am sure they will bounce back with a top performance in the next match.

MGC (Scratch) v Elton Furze

The scratch team hosted Elton Furze also this evening. The result was an honourable half so well played fellas, a good start to this year's campaign.
